She was born on Oct. 21, 1922, to Herbert Hunt and Eva McGlone Hunt. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Kay Reed; sons, Donald M. Reed and wife Jenny and Larry Wayne Reed and wife Debbie; two brothers, Ted Hunt and Bobby Hunt; a sister, Betty Rose Warren; grandchildren, Debbie Sue Reed and husband Lee, Danny Lee Reed and wife Vannie, Donald Edward Reed, Dawn Ana Drake and husband Bobby, Bobby Boyll and wife Tanja, Tammy Boyll, James Booth, Jeff Booth, Craig Reed and wife Chen-Sue, Ryan Reed, Jennie Jewell and husband Brian. She also, leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald James Reed, in 1983; her parents; and a daughter, Sharon Sigler and husband Jack; and sisters Kay, Jaunette and Doris; and brothers, Forest, Gerald, Junior and Paul. She worked at Twiggs Welding, while her husband was in the U.S. Marine Corps, with her mother at Anchor Hocking in Winchester, Platos Book Store, JSU as manager, and Sam's Wholesale Club. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a true believer in God and Savior. She belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Womens Auxiliary, the U.S. Penitentiary Auxiliary, an avid bingo player and I.U. and Notre Dame basketball fan, also Notre Dame football, as her grandson graduated from there. She was a season ticket holder for Indiana State girls basketball, and an avid bowler. She was a member of the Prairie Creek and Pleasant Valley Baptist Churches. She is going to be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in Mattox-McHugh Funeral Home 205 Washington St., in Shelburn, with the Rev. Charley Parr officiating. Viewing is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment is in Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery.
