She was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Bath Township, Allen County, to John P. and Carrie (Miller) Adams. On Oct. 17, 1947, she married the Rev. Edward H. Spyker at the Salem EUB Church, Toledo, by the bride's cousin, the Rev. Harry L. Adams. Her husband died Dec. 2, 1995. Spyker at the Salem EUB Church, Toledo, by the bride's cousin, the Rev. Harry L. Adams. Her husband died Dec. 2, 1995. Mrs. Spyker is survived by two sons, Bernard (Diana) Spyker of Fostoria and the Rev. Ronald (Cynde) Spyker of Bristol, Ind.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Leedy of Lima and Marcella (Joseph) Jamison of Elida; and one brother, Vernon Adams of Rochester, N.Y. Two siblings, Betty Bice and Roger Adams, preceded her in death. Mrs. Spyker was an audit clerk at Sears and a bank teller at Metropolitan Bank, both in Lima. She received her LPN certificate from the Ohio State Board of Nursing, worked at Willard Area Hospital, Bloomville Nursing Center and Royal Plantation Nursing Center of Leesville. She was a member of Tiffin Ebenezer United Methodist Church and an associate member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria. She participated in the East Ohio Conference where she was the treasurer of the Ohio Sandusky Conference WSWS from 1966 to 1970, Mansfield District United Methodist Women from 1971 to 1975 and Cambridge District United Methodist Women from 1983 to 1985. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen, and from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery, 4940 N. Thayer Road, Beaverdam, Ohio.
