Description	:	Helen Yearous, 84, of New Market, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, February 8, 2000, at Good Shepard Care Center, Blair, Nebraska, where she had resided to be near her daughter. Helen was born May 7, 1915, in Manson Township, Taylor County, near New Market, Iowa, to William Cameron and Claudia Vietta Raynor Cunningham. December 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Leslie Yearous who preceded her in death September 12, 1994. They farmed near New Market Iowa until their retirement. Helen was born May 7, 1915, in Manson Township, Taylor County, near New Market, Iowa, to William Cameron and Claudia Vietta Raynor Cunningham. She taught rural schools in Taylor County for eleven years before her marriage. Later she worked as a resource person for New Market Community School. Helen was a member of the New Market Methodist Church and the New Market American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include daughters, Gayle Antsey and husband Phil of Corning, Iowa, Marcia Capton and husband Jim of Boiling Springs, PA, Kathy Tierney of Blair, Nebraska, and Vicki Schroder and husband Larry of Ralston, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; one sister, Velma Shroyer of Carmichael, California; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Cunningham of Carmichael, California and Ethel Geer of San Jose, California; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Roy Cunningham, two sisters, Bernice Pratt and Ruby Cunningham, and an infant brother and sister. Funeral services were held Friday, February 11, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, with Rev. Dan Wiebesiek officiating. Burial was in Memory Cemetery, New Market, Iowa.
