H. Shattuck, street car conductor, residing at 3331 Ames Avenue, died early Wednesday morning from the effects of a slight injury resulting from pranks of her schoolmates at Thirty-third and Cuming streets on January 10. The injury, according to the father, was inflicted when Helen was shoved while boarding a street car. “The children behind her all began to shove and Helen in attempting to board the streetcar slipped and struck her right knee against the steps,” the father explained. “Cancer of the knee set in almost immediately.” Mr. Shattuck lost his wife two years ago while he was living at Gregory, S.D. He will leave tomorrow with the remains of his daughter which will be buried beside the mother.
