Helen Cleo Long was born August 25, 1932 in Wright County, Loring, Missouri. She was the daughter of Oral and Lillie(Carriger)Long, Sr. As a child, she moved with her parents to California and they later settled in Fremont in 1944. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont. Helen was previously employed by Bausch & Lomb Optical, Fremont Express Trucking and was a former night dispatcher for Little Audrey's Transportation Co.. She also was a former freight dispatcher for National Carriers Trucking in Omaha. She was the co-owner of Schulz Land Mobile Home Park at rural Fremont and Schulz Service. Survivors include sons, David & wife, Cindy(Leach)Schulz of Fremont, Randy & wife, Deb(Karlin)Schulz of DeSoto, MO and Robert & wife, Peggy(Roehrs)Schulz of Lincoln, NE; 5 grandchildren, Kathy & husband, Tom Maxson and Robyn & husband, John Dietz all of Kearney, NE, Matthew Schulz of Fremont, Hillary Schulz of DeSoto, MO and Katie Schulz of Midland University in Fremont; 2 great grandchildren, Alex & Makayla Maxson of Kearney; brother, Oral & wife, Glenda Long, Jr. of Omaha; sister, Evelyn Banks of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Linda & husband, William Hearon of Fremont and Beverly Spurgeon of Topeka, KS; brothers-in-law, Robert "Rudy" & wife, Barbara Schulz of Pacifica, CA, Don & wife, Neva Peters of Fremont and Dale & wife, Pat Peters of Austin, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in the Fremont area and aunts and cousins in the Wright County, MO area. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; and brothers-in-law, Elmer Banks of Fremont and Harold Spurgeon of Topeka, KS. Funeral service, 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 5th at First Baptist Church, Fremont. The Rev. Gundar Lamberts will officiate. Visitation Tues. 3 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Tuesday from 5 PM to 8 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Visitation on Wed. at church 1hr prior to service. Burial at Ridge Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association of Nebraska and to First Baptist Church in Fremont.
