Description	:	Helen D. Elliott, 95 years old, passed away on October 26, 2018 at Cottage in the Meadow, in Yakima, Washington. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to our family. Helen was born to Delia and Dick Plaggemeyer in Big Timber, MT on February 26, 1923. Elliott, 95 years old, passed away on October 26, 2018 at Cottage in the Meadow, in Yakima, Washington. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to our family. Helen was born to Delia and Dick Plaggemeyer in Big Timber, MT on February 26, 1923. Growing up on her parent’s ranch, she helped to cook for the hired help, drove tractor and operated the “rake.” During that time, she met her future husband, who was a ranch hand for her father. After high school, she worked at the Northern Hotel in Billings, MT, as a waitress. She later worked at The Anaconda Copper Mining Company in Columbus, MT, as a bookkeeper. In 1945, Helen married Russell Elliott, in Missouri. Sometime later they moved back to Montana to raise their family. In 1952, Helen then moved the family to Kennewick, Washington. In 1963, the family moved to Yakima, WA, and became members of the Church of God on 17th Ave. and Nob Hill. She taught many Sunday School classes there and served as the church secretary for several years. In 1968, she began serving as secretary at the Church of God State Offices (in Yakima, WA) and worked there until 1978. She then served as bookkeeper for the local church (Christian Life Center) until 1988 when she retired. Helen and Russell were blessed with three daughters, Janet Lee (Larry), Jolene Conner (Gary), and Jeanne Scott (Joseph). While living in Yakima, they “adopted” two more daughters, Diep Miller (Larry) and Laura Astor. Helen loved to go camping in their motor home. She was also the family seamstress for many years and was a wonderful cook and pie maker. She was a member of the Christian Worship Center (Church of God) in Zillah, WA. Helen is survived by two brothers, her daughters, Janet, Jolene, Diep, and Laura, 13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell, two sisters, one brother, and her daughter, Jeanne. We know that she is having a grand reunion with those who have gone before her. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Christian Life Center Church of God (716 N. 40th Ave., Yakima, WA 98908) at 1 pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11 am at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.
