Helen Kobza was born Sept. 13, 1912, near Bee. She attended rural school near Dwight. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Schuyler. Survivors include: two daughters, Ruth Ann Beckius of California and Helen Ptacka; two sons, Ben Welch and Rick Welch, both of Schuyler; four sisters, Agnes Fendrick of Lincoln, Rose Svoboda of Schuyler, Wilma Stara of Columbus and Eleanor Houska of David City; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and two sisters. The Rev. Jerry Leise will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel and continues 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Schuyler Cemetery.
