She was born Oct. 18, 1913, in Davis County to James T. and Ramie Kinsler Henderson. She married Lloyd Thompson on June 28, 1929, in Centerville. She lived in Davis County most of her life and owned and operated the Snack Shack in Drakesville with her husband for several years. She was a member of Bloomfield Christian Church. Read More	Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” August 23, 2000: Helen Thompson DRAKESVILLE – Helen E. Thompson, 86, of Drakesville died Aug. 21, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. She was born Oct. 18, 1913, in Davis County to James T. and Ramie Kinsler Henderson. She married Lloyd Thompson on June 28, 1929, in Centerville. She lived in Davis County most of her life and owned and operated the Snack Shack in Drakesville with her husband for several years. She was a member of Bloomfield Christian Church. She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard Thompson, of Ottumwa; two daughters, Joan Merryman and Jean McClurg, both of Hiawatha; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Aurthella Epperly of Milton and Leona Keesey of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth and Janey Thompson; a son, Rex Thompson; a granddaughter; three brothers, Loyal, Lonel and Roscoe Henderson; and four sisters, Inez Boner [sic], Elze Benge, Esthel Shelton and Almenda [sic] Proctor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Steve Aronowitz officiating. Burial will be in Drakesville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dean Stocker, Larry and DeVerne McClurg, Ron Thompson, Shane Merryman, Dave Martin and Bill Bird. Honorary pallbearer will be Jon Thompson. A memorial has been established to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Dialysis Department.
