Description	:	Helen E. Cheetham, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all she met went to be with her beloved Jesus on Feb. 22, 2009 in Ellensburg. Born to Clarence and Geneva Moore in Sevier County Tennessee on July 22, 1927, the eldest of seven children. She received most of her early education there, moving with her family to Leavenworth WA. in 1944 where she graduated from Leavenworth High School. Born to Clarence and Geneva Moore in Sevier County Tennessee on July 22, 1927, the eldest of seven children. She received most of her early education there, moving with her family to Leavenworth WA. in 1944 where she graduated from Leavenworth High School. In November, 1946 she married her best friend and the love of her life Vernon L. Cheetham. They resided in Leavenworth their entire married life of 56 years. They became the parents of Glenda in 1947, and Scott in 1952. Helen was a longtime member of the Community United Methodist Church in Leavenworth, and after moving to East Wenatchee she joined the Eastmont Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed going there and becoming, as she said, a member of the best Sunday School class in the world. Helen had several jobs before going to work for the US Forest Service in Leavenworth. She retired from that job with a medical retirement after working there for over 20 years. She spent the rest of her married life looking after Vern, tending to her flowers and baking cherry pies for the men in her life, and anyone else who asked for one. She was also pretty famous for her banana pudding and green beans and cornbread. Helen moved to East Wenatchee, WA. In 2004 to be closer to her daughter, but after suffering a major stroke, she moved into an Adult Family Home, Love & Wishes. She loved living there. She moved to Kittitas, WA to live with her daughter Glenda in September 2008, but had to be moved into Kittitas Valley Health & Re-hab Center in November of that year after suffering two more strokes. She also loved living there and so enjoyed the staff and all of the friends she made there. For them we are so very grateful. They all said that her smile lit up the room. Helen so loved and was so proud of her grandsons Willie (Trish) Nierman of Dryden, WA. and Brent (Nikki) Nierman of Kittitas, WA. She also dearly loved her four great-grandchildren, Kade, Hannah, Lexxus and Adyson Nierman. Helen is survived by her daughter Glenda Nierman-Jeske, Kittitas, WA, Her grandsons Willie & Brent and their families, three sisters, Lois (Roland) Jensen, Joyce (Jim) Monesmith, Gail (Chuck) Lowe and 2 brothers Roy Moore, and Freeman (Jolene) Moore, her sister-in-law Clara Girard, many, many nieces and nephews and her sweet little poodle Brandy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vern, her son Scott, her son-in-law Joel Nierman, and her sister Louise Kelley. A Memorial Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Helen Elizabeth Cheetham was held Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky Ave. East Wenatchee, WA. Private family inurnment was at the Mt. View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Eastmont Baptist Church Building Fund at 400 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee, WA. 98802, or the Humane Society of your choice. Wards Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, was in charge of arrangements.
