Mrs. Denney was born Nov. 27, 1912, in Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of Albert and Viola (Nichols) Risner. She attended Sioux City schools. She married Earl Carter in May 1933. She later married Pearl Edward Denney in April 1951. She worked at Johnson Biscuit Company for 22 years, retiring in 1975. She had lived in Texas since 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Women's Group. She also was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Janice and LeRoy Peters of Electra, Texas, and Marilyn and Bill Grice of Vernon, Texas; two sons, Robert Carter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Roland Carter of Euless, Texas; a stepdaughter, Eva Kemp of Sioux City; a stepson, Bob Denney of Manley, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; her parents; a brother; and a sister. Pallbearers will be Rick Schrooten, Cecil Risner, Don Peters, Bruce Peters, Terry Peters and Melvin Kemp.
