Description	:	Helen Emma Ortmeier, 90, of West Point died March 15, 2005 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Helen was born August 10, 1914 at Heun, NE to Edward and Margaret Lummel Wolff. The young family operated the Aloys Store, when, at the age of four, Helen's father died. She then moved with her mother and siblings east of West Point where she was raised. Helen attended Guardian Angels School. Read More	Helen Emma Ortmeier, 90, of West Point died March 15, 2005 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Helen was born August 10, 1914 at Heun, NE to Edward and Margaret Lummel Wolff. The young family operated the Aloys Store, when, at the age of four, Helen's father died. She then moved with her mother and siblings east of West Point where she was raised. Helen attended Guardian Angels School. On February 21, 1933, she married Henry Ortmeier at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys. the couple farmed south of St. Charles until they retired to West Point in 1970. Helen then worked as a Geriatric Aid at the West Point Living Center for 13 years. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guild Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed handiwork, and quilting was a passion. She was happiest working in her rose garden catching glimpses of a bright red cardinal or playing a friendly game of cards with conversation. She was a fine example of a good Christian mother. Survivors include daughters, Margaret ( Erv) Wordekemper, Eileen (Jim) Knodel all of West Point, Clare Ortmeier of St. Louis, MO and Alice(Gene)Kalina of Pawnee City, NE, sons, Bernard (Jan) and Don (Jan) all of Fremont, Leonard (Diane) and Dave (Aggie) all of West Point, sisters Sr. Veronica Wolff, OSF, Cambellsport, WI, Mary Ernesti of Howells, Matilda Drey of Early, IA, brother Leo Wolff of storm Lake, IA, sister-in-law Martha (Leo) Kaup of West Point, 30 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and a granddaughter Jane Ortmeier in 1984.
