Description	:	Helen Evelyn Irlene, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William A. Monson died at her home south of Wausa, Thursday, March 9, 1922 at the age of 11 years, 7 months, 12 days. Irlene was taken ill with inflammatory rheumatism last November. She has been in frail health, sometimes improving until 2 weeks ago when the disease developed into an affliction of the heart. Monson died at her home south of Wausa, Thursday, March 9, 1922 at the age of 11 years, 7 months, 12 days. Irlene was taken ill with inflammatory rheumatism last November. She has been in frail health, sometimes improving until 2 weeks ago when the disease developed into an affliction of the heart. Days before her departure she seemed to realize she was not long for this world. Her little trinkets and other belongings she bequeathed to her little sister and brother. She also wrote down numbers of four favorite songs. She made her sister promise not to tell this until everything was over as she didn't want to sadden her mother. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the Mission Church with Rev. Hawkinson officiating. The church choir sang the four songs she had mentioned. The little body was laid to rest in the Lutheran Cemetery. The five brothers of the departed and one cousin, Eddie Osberg served as pallbearers. When the news of the death of Irlene Monson was heard people were shocked because few were aware of her sickness. Helen Evelyn Irlene Monson was born July 25, 1910. She leaves her parents, 5 brothers, Wilmer, Leslie, Burdice, Walter and Arvid and one sister Mamie.
