Barker, pastor of Paton Methodist Church, spoke words of comfort. Mrs. O. B. Stribling and Mrs. Eva Sells sang two hymns with Mrs. Harold Wahl accompanying. Interment was in Paton Twp Cemetery. Grant, was born at Paton on March 15, 1902. She passed away at Jefferson on December 18, 1948. She reached the age of 46 years, nine months. Her father preceded her in death on June 24, 1929. On Dec. 28, 1927, she was married to Fred A. Fox. They have two children. Jimmie is age 13, and Betty is age 10. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband and children; her mother, Margaret Grant of Des Moines; two brothers: Vernon of Des Moines, and Leslie of Jefferson, many other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Methodist Church and E. P. French Chapter, No. 420, Order of the Eastern Star. She lived her entire life in Paton, except for the short time spent in various places while Fred was in construction work. She lived a quiet and unassuming life, devoted to her home and family. She was a dutiful wife, a loving mother, a kind sister and daughter. "She has seen His star in the East."
