Helen Frances Knight was born on June 2, 1924 in Andrew, Iowa to Peter J. and Margaret E. (Hoffman) Jorgensen. She was a 1942 graduate of Andrew High School and married Kenneth E. Helen Frances Knight was born on June 2, 1924 in Andrew, Iowa to Peter J. and Margaret E. (Hoffman) Jorgensen. She was a 1942 graduate of Andrew High School and married Kenneth E. Knight on June 2, 1943 in Waynesville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1993. Helen had worked at Wells Bakery and then at Dolch's Bakery for many years. She also had worked on the assembly line at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for 13 years. Helen was a longtime bowler and had been a member of the Maquoketa Bowling Association for many years where she had served in many capacities including as past president, treasurer and secretary. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Before losing her vision to Macular Degeneration she was a beautiful seamstress, crocheted afghans, baby blankets, doilies, and many other items for gifting. She always dressed two dolls for the bank "dress a doll" each year. Those left to honor Helen's memory include a son and daughter-in-law, Denny and Mary Ann Knight of Maquoketa, IA; 3 grandchildren, Jamie (and husband Jarrett Kaminsky) Knight of Mountain Top, PA, Josh (and wife Chaya) Knight of Maquoketa, IA, and Kristie (and husband Mark) Carr of Maquoketa, IA; 7 great-grandchildren, Sereina, Zaiden, Braden, Dalton, Tyson, Aliya and Jaxon; and a brother Marvin (and wife Gloria) Jorgensen of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers Glenn, Raymond, Robert, Carl and Henry, and 3 sisters Thelma, Lorraine, and Gladys. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, January 31, 2016, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.
