Description	:	Helen Louise Day, aged 85, died peacefully on November 11, 2016 at Brookdale Park Place Senior Living Facility in Spokane, Washington. Helen was born March 21, 1931 in Boone, Iowa, the youngest child of the late George Hagaman and Mae (Crandall) Hagaman. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Robert Day and son Brian Day, her sister Flora Clark, and brothers Frank and Harold Hagaman. In 1961, Helen married Robert D. Day. Helen was born March 21, 1931 in Boone, Iowa, the youngest child of the late George Hagaman and Mae (Crandall) Hagaman. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Robert Day and son Brian Day, her sister Flora Clark, and brothers Frank and Harold Hagaman. In 1961, Helen married Robert D. Day. They raised three children while moving around the country as part of life in the military. After military retirement, they settled in Spokane in 1974. Over the years she worked numerous retail and administrative jobs, of which her job at St. Peter’s Catholic Church meant the most to her by far. Family, friends, and having fun were Helen’s passion and delight as indicated by her hobbies of traveling, playing cards, bowling, and volunteering. Her collection of turtles is immense; nothing made her happier than when someone gave her a unique turtle collectible (unless there was ice cream involved!). Helen will most definitely be remembered for her incredible sense of humor and her outright silliness. Helen is survived by her two children, Valerie Rhodes and Craig Day, two grandchildren Corey Day and Clara Day, one great grandchild Adalynn Klara Day, sister Virginia Wilson, and brother George (Beverly) Hagaman. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Helen during her last illness, including the staff at Brookdale Park Place, Hospice of Spokane, and especially Cheri and Billy Speer. The funeral mass was Saturday, November 19 th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Spokane, Washington; a burial service will be planned for Spring 2017 in Boone, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane or St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Spokane, Washington.
