Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Oyens, with Rev. Randy Schon and Rev. Timothy Hogan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pick was born March 17, 1933 at rural Oyens, the daughter of George and Josephine (Arens) Homan. When a young child she moved with her family to the Alton area, where she was raised and attended St. Mary's Academy, graduating in 1951. She did bookkeeping for Gilmore Grain and also the LeMars Chamber of Commerce prior to her marriage. She married Donald Pick on May 21, 1960 at Alton. They farmed in Union Township for several years and then moved to Oyens in 1965. In 1966 she resumed bookkeeping part-time for Wells Dairy for several years, then did custodial work for St. Catherine's Parish. Later she worked for 10 years at the LeMars Liquor Store and then did part-time bookkeeping for St. Catherine's Parish, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Church Guild and Christian Mothers, all of Oyens. Surviving are her husband, Donald of Oyens; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Deb) Sitzmann of Hinton and Mrs. Tom (Denise) Murphy of Orange City; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Loyal, Milo and Dale Homan, all of Remsen. She was preceded in death by her parents. Casket bearers were Randy Frericks, Randy Hoffman, Chad and Harvey Homan, Todd Pick and Mark Schneckloth.
