Description	:	Helen Irene McKibben, 83, of rural Marshalltown, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Helen will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Helen was born March 28, 1926 in Marshalltown to James Arthur Folkner and Vera Faye Price. She attended school in Lamoille country school and in Marshalltown, and then graduated from Albion High School in 1943. Helen was united in marriage to Robert Eugene McKibben in Missouri on February 19, 1943. They resided in Marshall County their entire married lives on their century farm. Helen worked at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for over 23 years. She was a member of Prairieville Ladies Club, American Legion Auxiliary, The Farm Bureau Women and Albion Lions. Helen always enjoyed reading and history, she had a love for music, loved living on their century farm, enjoyed school reunions, but most of all she enjoyed her family and family gatherings. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Gene (Dixie) McKibben of Albion, Lynn (Cynthia) McKibben of St Louis and Laurel (Larry ) Eibs of Laurel, her grandchildren; Kent, Terrie, Lisa, Christine, Brandyn, and Kimberly, her great-grandchildren; Trevor, Tannor, Connor, Dalani, Kelcy, Rilee, Cole, Madison, Page, Ramsey, Gavin, and Grant, her sisters; Gerna Robertson of Tama and Leota (D C) Peterson of Chicago, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vera, her husband Robert, and sisters, Faye Blaess and Meryl Ross and a very special friend Ed Dawson.
