Description	:	Helen Irene crabbs was born in rural Guthrie County, Iowa on October 29, 1920 to Flora Latshaw and Samuel A. Marshman. Irene attended school and graduated from Guthrie Center High School where she was very active in band. Irene loved to ride horses and was extremely fond of her cats, all types, but especially her white ones. She was united in marriage to Herbert Dale Crabbs on February 7, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. Also three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Before marriage Irene worked at the REC and as a bookkeeper at farmers creamery. Irene was active in the First United Methodist Church especially with the UMW. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, daughter, Patricia, and a beloved aunt who raised her, Luella Simcoke, as well as her mother, father, brother, and two sisters. Irene had been living in the New Homestead since 2009 where she passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 8, 2017. No funeral services are planned. A private Inurnment at a lated date in Bear Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church's UMW group.
