Helen was born in rural Downing, MO on August 15, 1917, the third child of John Jacob and Emma Hellen (Snowbarger) Schmitter. On December 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to Edward Lloyd Manning of Lancaster, MO Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd on May 15, 1970. Also preceding her in death were her parents, John and Emma Schmitter, two brothers, Paul Schmitter and Junior Schmitter, one sister, Mary Louise Webster; one son-in-law Curtis Lamb; 2 grandchildren. Helen is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann Manning and companion Eugene Price of Clinton, MO. and Norma Lee Grimsley and husbnad, Leroy of Ponca City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one sister Avis Farrell of Lancaster MO; 11 great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
