Helen was born on February 12, 1937 in Albion, NE to Albert J. and Merle Emma (Stone) Ebers. The family moved to the family farm in the rural Seward, NE area, where she attended country school. Thompson, 82, of Kearney, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society, St. Luke’s in Kearney. Helen was born on February 12, 1937 in Albion, NE to Albert J. and Merle Emma (Stone) Ebers. The family moved to the family farm in the rural Seward, NE area, where she attended country school. Helen attended Milford High School and graduated with the class of 1954. After high school, she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Helen married Robert Thompson on January 13, 1956 at the Salem Methodist Church in rural Seward County, NE. Helen and Robert lived in a variety of communities throughout the years including Lincoln, North Platte, Holdrege, Lexington and Kearney. Helen and Robert were blessed with three girls, Rita, Michelle and Brenda. She worked at various positions throughout her life until she was no longer able to work due to her health. She was a music lover, and liked playing the piano and organ, singing in church choir, and listening to music. Helen and Bob enjoyed riding their motorcycle, and took many day trips and vacations for over 20 years. Most important to Helen was her faith in the Lord, and her life is a testimony of a good and faithful servant who loved God with all her heart. Surviving relatives include her loving husband, Robert of Kearney; daughters, Rita and Mike Uldrich of Kearney, Michelle Thompson of Portsmouth, NH and Brenda and Wayne Harnish of Dudley, GA; sister, Mary Ann Hans of Seward, NE; brother in law Merle and Janet Thompson of Lincoln, NE; sister in law Pat Grimes of Milford, NE; grandchildren, Lindsay Uldrich, Melissa Uldrich, Kristi Parton and Jonathan Harnish; 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons; numerous other extended family and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother in law Gleason Grimes; brother in law Roger Hans.
