Description	:	Helen J. (Mullivan) Boyd was born on April 7, 1955 to Floyd and Gladys (Horstmeyer) Mullivan in Mitchell, SD. Growing up a farm kid, it was during this time which fostered her fondness for animals, and she learned the importance of hard work. She valued and honored family tradition, especially during the holidays. She proudly graduated from Plankinton High School in the "Great Class of 1973". She valued and honored family tradition, especially during the holidays. She proudly graduated from Plankinton High School in the "Great Class of 1973". Following graduation she achieved her LPN degree from Mitchell Vo-Tech. She married Charles Boyd and to this union came four children: DeEtte, Barbie, Cameron and Trevor. She was also blessed with a son, Chance. A true caregiver, she was there for so many in their times of need, offering a gentle hand and words of encouragement. Always putting others first, she was an EMT and 14 year member of the Plankinton Ambulance Association. She also served on the Aurora County Cancer Fund Board and St. John's Catholic Church Council. Nature gave Helen inspiration and her special connection and interest in people and events were all captured in her timeless photographs, which could be enjoyed by all in her studio, Helen's Hobby. She brightened the lives of those with whom she spent time with her candid personality and sense of humor. Her creativity and artistic abilities shone through in her painting of homes. Following her grandchildren's activities, camping weekends, bird calling and daily coffee time were favorite pastimes. Helen was preceded in death by one grandson, Vladimir Boyd; her parents; her stepfather, Don C. Boyd; one sister, Patty and brother-in-law, Ivan Overweg. From the Mount Funeral Home
