Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, South Garryowen. She received her education in the rural Bernard area schools. She married Loran Boyle on Oct. 26, 1937, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, South Garryowen; he preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1982. Helen was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade. Surviving are four children, Jean (Tom) McDermott, of Dubuque, Rose Ann (John) Schmitt, of St. Louis, Tom "Slim" (Mary Jane) Boyle, of Cascade, and Jack (Judith) Boyle, of Bernard; 14 grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Orland Boyle, of Cascade. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Kathleen Boyle, on May 4, 2003; a grandson, Mike Boyle; and a brother, Vincent (Dorothy) Shanahan.
