She received her education at Rock rural school near her home. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near north of Johnson, Nebraska. On Dec. 27, 1925, she was married to Arnold J. She received her education at Rock rural school near her home. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near north of Johnson, Nebraska. On Dec. 27, 1925, she was married to Arnold J. Hopp at her parent's home. Mr. and Mrs. Hopp lived north of Graf for a short period of time. They then moved to Johnson, where they lived all of their married lives. Arnold died on Nov. 3, 1958. Helen owned and operated Hopp's Cafe in Johnson until her retirement in 1980. She was in the restaurant business for 34 years and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She died at the Nemaha County Hospital having reached the age of 86 years, three months and two days. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grand daughter, one brother and two sisters. Surviving are one son, Lee A Hopp; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Schmid, and Albert Schmid; five sisters, Minnie Rosa Hopp, Mabel Franzen, Lela Rosakrans, Gerda Minnie Blume, and Wilma (Pat) Hobb. Funeral services were held on March 13, 1992, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, NE. Burial was in the church cemetery near Johnson.
