Description	:	Helen L. Harper, 99, formerly of 825 Clinton Ave., died at 7:35 p.m. April 8, 2009, at Vista Woods Care Center. She was born June 1, 1909, in Melrose to Clifford Joseph and Nora Linebaugh Palmer. She married Gentry D. Harper March 1, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He preceded her in death Aug. 27, 1998. A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1927, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church, King's Daughters and South Ottumwa Savings Bank Sunshine Club. She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church, King's Daughters and South Ottumwa Savings Bank Sunshine Club. She was an avid square dancer, and she and her husband were charter members of the B-Squares. Surviving is her daughter, Nancy Critchlow McWilliams of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Kris (Andy) Fink, Mick (Robin) Critchlow and Angi (Kent) Farley; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Levi, Sawyer, Dylani, Bradi and Becker Reardon, Ryan and Nicki Lennie, Jensen, Carter and Samantha Farley. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ed Critchlow; and a sister, Hazel Hardnacke. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Davis St. Christian Church with Rev. Gary Sneller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Mick Critchlow, Kris Fink, Angi Farley, Kent Farley, Richard Prough and John Reardon.
