Helen was born April 30, 1922 in Funk, Nebraska to Henry Walter "Wallie" and Amelia "Edna" (Huldin) Andresen. She attended country school at District #6 in Funk through the 8th grade and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1940. Following graduation, she began working as a dental assistant, a career she enjoyed for over 40 years. She was united in marriage to Paul O. Helen was born April 30, 1922 in Funk, Nebraska to Henry Walter "Wallie" and Amelia "Edna" (Huldin) Andresen. She attended country school at District #6 in Funk through the 8th grade and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1940. Following graduation, she began working as a dental assistant, a career she enjoyed for over 40 years. She was united in marriage to Paul O. Dahlgren in 1946 and, immediately embraced her 10-year-old stepdaughter, Phyllis, as her own. Her daughter, Maryann was born in 1947. The family made their home on a farm six miles north of Holdrege until 1965 when they moved into their new home on Tilden Street in Holdrege. On March 18, 1994, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. Helen sold their Holdrege home in 1998 and moved to Scottsdale to live with her daughter, Maryann. Helen was a loving, and gentle spirit always putting family and friends first. Her faith in God was evident in the way she lived her life. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Maryann Savage of Scottsdale; son-in-law, Rod Wilke of Scottsdale; grandson, Keith Wilke of Los Angeles, California; great-granddaughter, Ashley Wingen of San Diego, California; sisters-in-law: Kay Dahlgren of Bloomington, Minnesota, Pearl Backencamp of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marlyn Mackey of Columbus, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Paul she was preceded in death by her parents, Wallie and Edna Andresen; siblings: Pearle DeLancey and Don Andresen; stepdaughter, Phyllis Wilke, and son-in-law, Jack Savage.
