Read More	Helen Louise Maxwell Tilley Mars Hill - Helen Louise Maxwell Tilley, 78, of Mars Hill, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and friend of 31 years, Jack Preston Tilley. A native of Madison County, Helen resided in Mars Hill for the past 31 years. During a career spanning a 55 year period, Helen was faithful assistant and friend to the families and medical practices of Drs' Otis Duck, Charles Powell, Ernest Powell, David Deci, Les Stowe, and Susan Wise. She is remembered for her service to the Mars Hill Community which included Mars Hill Baptist Church's Caring Committee, Sunday School Class president, the Mildred Bingham Mission Group and chair of Ruth's Clothes Closet. Numerous additional community activities included the Mars Hill Woman's Club andBeta Sigma Phi. Helen was born on December 2, 1930, the eldest child of the late Glileo and Mildred Rice Maxwell. She is survived by step-daughters, Lynn Tilley Carter of Knoxville, Tenn., Rick and Sandy Tilley Wagoner of Jonesville; and two stepsons, Steven and Jenny Tilley of Greensboro and Brad and Kathy Tilley of Kilmarnock, Va.; three sisters, Betty Tweed, Grover, Sarah Tweed, Richard, Lois Barrett, Bill; sister-in-law, Wilma Maxwell; seven grandchildren; and special extended family, Dwayne and Pam Maxwell, Drs. Mark and Suzanne Hess, Bobby Zink, Dr. Les and Ann Stowe; and special neighbors and friends, Stanley and Mary Colvin, Greg and Tanya Roberts, Jamie and Michelle Simone, FiFi DeGroot and Jean Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her only brother, Bruce Maxwell. Helen holds a special place in the hearts of the many children whom she nurtured and loved over two generations. The gravesite service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church. Dr. Tommy Justice will officiate.
