She was born October 12, 1923, to Clarence Victor and Ruth Amelia (Moberg) Haskins at Livingston, Montana where she was raised and educated. In 1941, she moved to Wenatchee and went to work as a telephone operator. She was born October 12, 1923, to Clarence Victor and Ruth Amelia (Moberg) Haskins at Livingston, Montana where she was raised and educated. In 1941, she moved to Wenatchee and went to work as a telephone operator. In 1944, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for two years until her honorable discharge in 1946. at which time she moved back to Wenatchee. Helen then went to work for Sears. She married Clifford G. 'Cliff' Shiflett on May 22, 1948, at Wenatchee where they have since lived. She worked for Western Optical and then as a bookkeeper at Sav-Mart until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Shiflett was a former longtime member of the Eagles and a longtime member of the Wenatchee First Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially ceramics, crocheting Afghans and other types of needlework. Survivors include her husband, Cliff of the home; two daughters, Sharon (Mel) Henson of Lincoln, California, Star (Glen) Allen of Yakima; one son, Kip Shiflett of Entiat; one sister, Fern Moffet of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the Wenatchee First Baptist Church, 1301 Maple Street, with Pastor Wes Hunter and Pastor Vrgil Vater officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
