Helen Mae Helleso was born December 2, 1906 in rural Garwin, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Lillie (Egger) Jensen. Helen attended Rock Valley Country School near Garwin. On February 11, 1925 she was united in marriage to Everett Helleso at Toledo, IA. They made their home all their married life on a farm south of Garwin. Helen Mae Helleso was born December 2, 1906 in rural Garwin, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Lillie (Egger) Jensen. Helen attended Rock Valley Country School near Garwin. On February 11, 1925 she was united in marriage to Everett Helleso at Toledo, IA. They made their home all their married life on a farm south of Garwin. During this time Helen and Everett were honored for their 65 years of marriage. Following Everett's death on June 5, 1991, Helen continued to make her home on the farm. She later moved to Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad where her death came on Monday, August 13, 2001 at the age of 94 years. In free moments Helen enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett, a brother Clifford, a sister Genevieve Meeker, and a son-in-law Bob Clemens. She is survived by a son, Donald (Janet) Helleso of Garwin, IA, a daughter, Arlene Clemens of Marshalltown, IA, a brother, Sherman Jensen of Garwin, IA, two sisters, Myrtle Groth and Gretchen Dahms both of Garwin, IA, four grandchildren and their spouses: Charlene (Clint) Coon of Altoona, IA, Debra (Steve) Locker of Nevada, IA, Bill (Becky) Clemens of Marshalltown, IA, Lori (Scott) McLain of Marshalltown, IA, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
