Description	:	Helen M. Hols, 89, of Oskaloosa, formerly of rural Eddyville, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Mahaska County Hospital. She was born December 4, 1911 in Bain, MN to Henry and Jessie Bain Chilcote. She married Jacob Hols February 15, 1930; he died February 19, 1978. The couple farmed in West Des Moines Township, Mahaska County, for many years before retiring. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and served as a Sunday school teacher, junior department superintendent and kitchen worker. Hols, 89, of Oskaloosa, formerly of rural Eddyville, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Mahaska County Hospital. She was born December 4, 1911 in Bain, MN to Henry and Jessie Bain Chilcote. She married Jacob Hols February 15, 1930; he died February 19, 1978. The couple farmed in West Des Moines Township, Mahaska County, for many years before retiring. A 4-H leader, she served as Garden Committee Chairman to the Extension Council. She is survived by a son, Wayne of rural Eddyville; a daughter, Linda Huff of Oskaloosa; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Winona Phillips; and three sisters, Vera Wolver, Mildred Terrell and Mary Price. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Michael Crouch officiating. Burial was in Bluff Creek Cemetery southwest of Oskaloosa.
