First South- The community was saddened on Friday to hear of the passing of one of its young respected citizens, when death claimed the life of Helen Marguerite Grimm, at the early age of twenty-six years. She was the first child to be baptized in Grace Lutheran Church, and was a graduate of Grace Maternity Hospital. First South- The community was saddened on Friday to hear of the passing of one of its young respected citizens, when death claimed the life of Helen Marguerite Grimm, at the early age of twenty-six years. She was the first child to be baptized in Grace Lutheran Church, and was a graduate of Grace Maternity Hospital. After receiving her certificate for a registerd nurse, she worked at Halifax, until she was forced by health to rest. Since Christmas she has been at her home, but has only kept her bed for the past six weeks, until she passed to eternal rest. Of a loving and gentle disposition she was liked by all who knew her. The deceased, who was to have become a bride in the near future of Norman Smith of Kentville, had to give her earthly happiness, but entered into a world where sorrow is known no more. She is survived by her parents; seven sisters, Peggy (Mrs. E.G. Mosher), of Saint John, New Brunswick; Mrs. Lemuel Zinck, Mahone Bay; Katie, Mary, Gladys, Kathleen and Lucy. Three brothers, Lonnie, Dannie,and Wallace also survive. The funeral was held on Sunday at 4 o'clock, in the afternoon, at the house, then the funeral cortege proceeded to Grace Lutheran Church, where the service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Innes, who spoke from St. Matthew's Gospel, Cahpter 5, and part of the 24th. verse. Hymns sung were "Blest Be The Tie That Binds" "Abide With Me," and Misses Marion and Thelma Haughn, cousins of the deceased, sang her favorite selection, "The Old Rugged Cross." The floral tributes added much to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was in First South Cemetery. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
