Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church – Grant Township, rural Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend Shawn Brooks and Reverend Lil Johnston will officiate. Helen Marie Eichacker was born August 7, 1918 on farm south of Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Faust) Eichacker. She grew up south of Akron, where she attended country school. She was united in marriage to George Plueger on June 15, 1939. After their marriage, they made their home in Mammen Town, rural Plymouth County, Iowa. In 1945, they moved to George’s parent’s home in Preston Township, rural Plymouth County where they farmed. George passed away December 4, 1984. In 1985, she moved to Le Mars. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Through the years, she enjoyed gardening, taking pictures, baking, and cooking. But most of all, she loved time spent visiting with her family and friends. Survivors include her son: Melvin (Joan) Plueger of Le Mars; her granddaughter: Laurie (Mark) Schweitzberger of Kingsley, IA; two grandchildren: Jacob and Jordyn Schweitzberger; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Plueger; two brothers: Henry and Paul Eichacker; and a sister in infancy: Gertrude Eichacker.
