Read More	Columbia, South Carolina - Helen Marlene McAbee, 81, passed away peacefully on the 3rd of December, 2021 in Indian Trail, NC. After taking her last breath here on earth she took her first breath in heaven. We have full confidence that she is now in her eternal home with her Lord and Savior. A native of Mullins, SC, Helen was born October 11th, 1940 to Charles E. and Margaret Rhodes McAbee. As one of eight children Helen and her brothers and sisters enjoyed many happy times together, birthdays, Thanksgivings, and reunions. Lots of good times were spent with cousins and aunts and uncles growing up. So many good memories were made. The First Baptist Church of Mullins was a special place for Helen providing a firm foundation for her in her Christian faith. Helen loved Jesus, her family, and her church for the past 50-some years, Dutch Fork Baptist. She had a heart for service, missions, and teaching others about Jesus. She started the Royal Ambassadors chapter for boys there and was one of its first leaders. She then was a Girls in Action leader, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a Sunday school teacher, and a nursery worker. She was affectionately known as "Honey" to the many children that she cared for in her in-home daycare. She loved them as her own, and they and their families became family to her. She had a special group of friends simply known as "The Group". These six families went to church together, raised their children together, and have supported each other for the past almost 50 years. We are thankful for them and appreciate the love and support they bestowed on us and our mother. Helen loved being outdoors and admiring God's creation. She spent many hours combing the beach, visiting the mountains, hiking and seeing waterfalls, as well as visiting historic landmarks. She loved looking after her flowers and she loved climbing trees. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Richard Martin McAbee. Survivors include her sons, Lt Col Bruce Williamson of Rockwall, Texas (his wife Dr. Karen and children Madeline Williamson, Katie Spencer, Grant Cooper, and Reid Williamson), Steve Williamson of Columbia, SC, Bryan Williamson of Lexington, SC (his wife Angie and their children Kaitlin Morgan, Payton and Edwin Floyd, and grandson EJ Derrick), and her daughter, Rebecca Siguenza of Indian Trail, NC (her husband Alfonso and children Dillon and Ally Poole, Isabella, Helena, and Julian Siguenza), and her siblings Ida Margaret (Billy) Dailey, Jean Best, Charles McAbee Jr., Mike McAbee, Iris Collins, and Susan Merrifield. Services to celebrate her life and homegoing will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11th at Dutch Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow at Dutch Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 10th at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
