Description	:	From the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home: Helen Mary Mushitz, daughter of Frank and Frances (Meis) Jaeger, was born June 9, 1922 on the family farm two miles west of Geddes. She was the fourth child of nine born to the family. Helen died peacefully Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Armour at the age of 94 years, one month and 24 days. Read More	From the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home: Helen Mary Mushitz, daughter of Frank and Frances (Meis) Jaeger, was born June 9, 1922 on the family farm two miles west of Geddes. She was the fourth child of nine born to the family. Helen died peacefully Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Armour at the age of 94 years, one month and 24 days. Helen attended St. Ann’s Catholic School through the eighth grade and graduated from Geddes Public School in 1940. All of her life was spent in Geddes, except for her college years in Mitchell at Notre Dame and one year teaching in Kimball. Helen taught in a rural school in Rhoda Township, two miles west of Bovee for three years. On June 10, 1946, Helen married Romus Joseph Mushitz at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Geddes. Before moving to the farm, she taught one year in the Geddes Public School. Romus died March 12, 1977. Helen continued to live on the farm until September of 1984, when she moved into Geddes. Helen was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she was a CCD teacher for 42 years and also served as sacristan for 22 years. She also was a Bible Study Leader where she made numerous new friends and which she totally enjoyed. Helen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Geddes Civic Club and St. Ann’s Altar Society. She also remained active as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society for many years. Helen was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers: Art and wife Edna, Ed and Joseph; one sister, Louise Kozak; and three brothers-in-laws: John Kozak, David Summerville and Dean Andersen.
