She was born Nov. 10, 1911, to Ernest and Matilda (Larson) Lundborg near Beresford. She grew up on a farm near Beresford and graduated from Beresford High School. She completed one year of secretarial training in Minneapolis, Minn. She married Clarence R. Kratz Oct. 7, 1933, in Elk Point. The couple owned and operated the Kratz general Store in Olivet for 25 years. They moved to Yankton in 1966. She worked for 11 years at the South Dakota Human Services Center before retiring in 1976. She attended First Unitd Methodist Church, Yankton, where she was active with the church quilting group. She was a member of Keystone Chapter, #33, O.E.S., the Yankton Senior Citizens and a weekly lunch group. Survivors include one son, Ernest (Bud) Kratz, Yankton; three daughters: Coletta (Mrs. Glenn) Bender, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Kay (Mrs. Glenn) Schoenfish, Kansas City, Kan.; and Marsha (Mrs. Rollie) Beran, Crofton, Neb.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. ------------------------------------------ She was the granddaughter of Peter/Maria Lundborg.
