Mavis was born June 3, 1924 in Aberdeen, Washington to Joseph and Marguerite Lancaster. Mavis graduated from Elma High School in 1942 in Elma, Washington. She served in the Womens Army Corps, 2nd Army Airforce from 1942-1944 as a clerk in the Pentagon and separated as a corporal from Camp Beale, California. Read More	HELEN MAVIS GRAHAM June 3, 1924 ˜ January 20, 2019 Helen Mavis Graham, 94, of Battle Ground, Washington died on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in her home, surrounded by family. Mavis was born June 3, 1924 in Aberdeen, Washington to Joseph and Marguerite Lancaster. Mavis graduated from Elma High School in 1942 in Elma, Washington. She served in the Womens Army Corps, 2nd Army Airforce from 1942-1944 as a clerk in the Pentagon and separated as a corporal from Camp Beale, California. She was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Mavis was a homemaker and devoted mother to five children. She moved to Battle Ground, Washington in 2001 with her spouse, Harry Graham, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Mavis will be remembered especially for her devotion to her Christian faith and mission to invite others into the comradery of the Battle Ground Senior Center in Battle Ground, Washington. For Mavis, walking was a source of freedom, independence, and joy. Many will remember her walking, rain or shine, to the Senior Center to spend her mornings with friends. Mavis is survived by her children: James Graham (Gail), Jerry Graham, Joseph Graham (Kandy), Terry Graham, and Sherrill Scheel (Warren); grandchildren: Christine Harris, John Alexander (Marissa), Jullia Alexander; and brother: Alvin Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry Graham; grandson Jeffrey Graham; and six siblings. There was a funeral at Sacred Heart Church in Battle Ground, Washington on Saturday, January 26, 2019, followed by graveside service and reception at the Parish Center. The presider was her son, Fr.
