Her funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday October 8, 2014 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Brown, Rev. George Stallings and Dr. Andy Jung officiating. She was a retired teller with First National Bank at the Quenby Branch in Albemarle. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Albemarle. Mrs. Fields taught piano for many years, enjoyed playing piano for the children at the Little Red School house, and played piano at the church services at the Taylor House. She loved her grandchildren and she loved to garden. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Fields. Survivors include sons Sid Fields and wife Margaret of Albemarle and Thomas Fields and wife Patsy of Columbia, SC, 3 grandchildren, Meredith Stinnett (Kevin), William Fields (Laura) and Mary Margaret Wysocki (Timmy), 4 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Mike Woody of Raleigh. A daughter Lydia Woody and brother Grady Eugene Moore preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 202 N. Second Street, Albemarle NC 28001 or to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001. Marriage: - Ray Fields (27) b.1919, son of Martin Fields and Ruth E Thomas Fields - and Helen Moore (22), b.1924, daughter of M Grady Moore and Flora Stallings Moore - married 15 November 1946 in N. Albemarle Township, Stanly Co, NC.
