Description	:	Helen M. Hovey was born November 13, 1941, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Winter) Murra. She grew up in Buffalo Center where she also attended school and graduated from Buffalo Center High School. After her schooling she worked at the bank in Buffalo Center. On February 19, 1966, Helen was united in marriage to DeWayne Hovey at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa. She grew up in Buffalo Center where she also attended school and graduated from Buffalo Center High School. After her schooling she worked at the bank in Buffalo Center. On February 19, 1966, Helen was united in marriage to DeWayne Hovey at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Algona where Helen worked at Iowa State Bank. Helen later worked as a bookkeeper in the food service department for the Algona Community School District for 30 years, retiring in 2005. After spending most of their married lives in Algona, DeWayne and Helen moved to Titonka in 2006. The biggest joy in Helen's life was spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed collecting teddy bears, baskets and snow babies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Algona. Helen died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa. She was 65. She is survived by her husband, DeWayne of Titonka; children, Jeff and Deb Hovey of Titonka; Jerrod and Dawn Hovey of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren, Brandon, Alex, Cady, Kashayla, Devon and Kyla. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, John Murra of CA; Dick and Betty Murra of Dallas, TX; Marion and Verdon Farrow, Grace and Bill Jergens, Arlene Thorland all of Buffalo Center; Arnold and Bernette Murra of Forest City; Clarence and Evelyn Murra of Iowa Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.
