Funeral services were held Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Second Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mixon was born December 6, 1925 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Truly Cooper Morris. Mrs. Mixon was born December 6, 1925 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Truly Cooper Morris. She graduated from Greeleyville High School and was a retired employee of Talon. Mrs. Mixon was a member of Great Commission Ministries in Turbeville. During World War II she was a welder at the Charleston Shipyard. Survivors are: five children, George Mixon, Jr. of Kingstree; Mary McCutcheon (Rudolph) of Cades; Sylvia Hyatt of Kingstree; Gerald Mixon (Denise) of Cades; and Danny Mixon (Carolyn) of Kingstree; three sisters, Ellen Cribb of Goose Creek; Edna Long of Andrews; and Loretta Kullnat of Mullins; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice at Great Commission Ministries in Turbeville.
