Description	:	Helen Patterson Hinson, 86, Mount Olive, passed away at her residence Sunday evening. She was the daughter of the late Walter James and Margaret Whitfield Patterson, and was the widow of Charles Brantley Hinson. Mrs. Hinson was a member of Outlaw's Bridge Universalist Church, and a retired hairdresser. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a past president of Mount Olive American Legion Auxiliary. A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Shumate-Faulk Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Claudia Frost and the Rev. Kevin Hayes officiating. Burial will... The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times, at the home place or the residence of Valerie Owen or Charles Hinson Jr. Mrs. Hinson is survived by a son, Charles Hinson Jr. and wife, Amy, of Mount Olive; three daughters, LaVeta Weatherington of Greenville, Regina Bright and husband, Manley, of Pollocksville and Valerie Owen and husband, Kenneth, of Mount Olive; a sister, Barbara Marquez and friend, Frank, of Faison; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her caregivers, Carrie Grady and Michelle Bennett. Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by a son (son-in-law), Cliff Weatherington; a sister, Shirley Kelly; and a great-granddaughter, Lydia Strickland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Phi Chapter of Goldsboro, 497 Bowden Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, or Albertson Community Library, 3763 N.C. 111 903, Albertson, N.C., 28508.
