Born in Leaksville, in Rockingham County, she was a bookkeeper with Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. She moved to Piedmont Road in the Buckhead area of Atlanta in 1954. There she and her husband, George, who was deceased in 1986, raised three children. She was an active parent with R.L. Redmon Jr. of Eden, Harold W. Redmon of Winston-Salem, and A.W. Redmon of Birmingham, Ala.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Fair Funeral Home in Eden with burial in Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be at the home of the daughter, 514 S. Hamilton St. in Eden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Home Society of North Carolina, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415; or to a favorite charity.
