Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. John Monger officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 in the evening. Helen was born October 4, 1907 in Jamesport, Missouri the daughter of William Henry and Ida Mae (Rowan) Hunt. On November 28, 1928 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Bartholow in Ainsworth, he preceded her in death in 1990. She was raised in the Ainsworth and Columbus Junction area and graduated from Ainsworth High School. She was member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Washington, Women's' Missionary Society, HEO club and the last surviving charter member of the LBC club. Helen was a housewife, reflexologist and worked with her husband on the farm north of Washington until 1942, then moved south of Washington, retiring to town in 1976. Survivors include: two sons, Charles W. Bartholow of Jay, OK and Bernard Bartholow and wife Judith of Muscatine, IA; one daughter Beatrice Johnson and husband Dwain of Washington, IA; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin brother Homer in 1962, brother Lee, two sisters, Lulu Moore and Jessie Colthurst, infant sister Lena Beatrice, one great-grandson Michael Johnson and daughter-in-law Patricia Bartholow.
