Her funeral service will be 4 PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garry Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 2 until 4 PM prior to the service. Born April 30, 1928 in Marlboro County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Stanley and Ruth McIntosh McCaskill. She was a graduate of Rockingham High School and Wingate University and was the administrator of Taylor House of Albemarle. A member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, she was a pastor’s wife, pianist, Sunday School teacher and the associational WMU Director. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Howard C. Benoy. Survivors include a son, Jack T. Benoy and wife Carol of Albemarle and daughters June Benoy Kirkpatrick and husband Buddy of Burlington, NC and Patty Benoy White and husband Craven of Mt. Gilead, NC and also a daughter in law Patricia Benoy of Albemarle. She was preceded in death by a son Howard A. (Tony) Benoy. Other survivors include a brother Bob McCaskill of Rockingham, NC and a sister, Ellen McCaskill Lynch of Rockingham, NC. She has eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A brother Charles McCaskill preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 703 Snuggs Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
