Dallas Sathren on February 11,... Read More	Helen Sathren, 73, Linton, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 in her home, with her husband and her children by her side. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. Helen was born October 22, 1932, to Michael and Helena (Usselman) Schumacher. She was the youngest of 11 children, born and raised in Strasburg, attended and graduated from St. Ben's Catholic School in Strasburg. Helen graduated from accounting college and began working for her father's car dealership, Schumacher's, Inc. and continued employment there for the past 50 years. Helen married L. Dallas Sathren on February 11, 1956 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, and made their home in Linton. In 1963, they purchased a summer business of what became known as Dal's Dario on Highway 83 for 17 years. They also owned and managed the Sales Barn Café on Friday's in the 1970's. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her past-times included crocheting blankets for her family and friends, keeping scrapbooks for each of her children and grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles and reading books. She also loved planning family get-togethers, especially reunions and Christmas. She always made herself available for her family and friends. Helen was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 54 for many years, holding several offices, including President and Membership Chairman. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the America's Court 1972, and a member of the Strasburg VFW Auxiliary, Linton Women's Bowing League and horseshoe leagues. She was very dedicated to each challenge she was given and never needed recognition for her efforts. Grateful to have shared her life are her husband: Dallas, Linton; three daughters and sons-in-law: Denice and Les Kautz, Heleen and Floyd Vetter and Therese and Leon Beitelspacher, all of Linton; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gerard and Twila Sathren, and Todd and Ricki Sathren, all of Linton; 14 grandchildren and 5 great –grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Mary Ann Bickler of Bismarck and Jean and Robert Schreiner of Strasburg; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Syl and Viola Schumacher, Andrew and Clarice Schumacher all of Linton, and Rachel Fox of Jamestown, ND and sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Myra (Sathren) and Ray Renschler of Linton, ND. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Magdalena "Mac" Hinton, Genevieve Baumgartner, Bertha and Bill Fox, and Michael Bickler; one sister-in-law: Elizabeth "Betty" Schumacher; and three sisters in infancy; one granddaughter, Theresa Beitelspacher; two nephews, Patrick Schumacher and Jerry Baumgartner; two nieces, Michelle Schreiner and Beatrice "Bede" Feth.
