She died on Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 84. Havrevold was born on June 20, 1923, in Brookings County, SD, the daughter of Oscar and Edith (Bjorklund) Hermandson. She died on Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Brookings Hospital at the age of 84. Helen was baptized in the Lutheran faith on July 22, 1923 and confirmed on May 16, 1938 at First Lutheran Church in Arlington, SD. She received her education in rural school in Brookings County, SD. She was united in marriage to Lester Havrevold on July 16, 1943, in Phoenix, Alabama. After her marriage she was employed for the Huston Peanut Co in Columbus, GA for two years before moving back to South Dakota. Lester and Helen then farmed near Volga for the next 20 years. In 1966, they moved into Volga. Lester died on November 20, 1989. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary in Volga. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends. Helen is survived by her children Leona Sween, Floyd (Cheryl) Havrevold, Loretta (Howard ) Lindberg all of Volga, SD; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers Gustav "Sonny", Harold, and one sister Betty. Funeral Service: Saturday, January 19, 2008 First Lutheran Church, Volga, SD Rev.
