Mrs. CARTER was born June 2, 1908 in Batavia, the daughter of William and Alice RODABAUGH HUNT. She graduated from Batavia High School in 1927, attended Parsons College and received a bachelor of arts degree from Iowa Weslyan College. She married Lloyd W. CARTER in 1931 in Batavia. She taught school for 38 years in Jefferson County, Douds-Leando, Wayland and Avoca. She retired in 1974 and moved to Fairfield, where she lived until moving in 1986 to Parkview Home, Wayland. She was a member of Church of the Brethren and a life member of the Iowa Teachers Association. Suviving are a son, Leonard A. Sr., Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Ivo HUNT, Batavia; Dr. Van HUNT, Mason City; a sister, Elevna McINTIRE, Fairfield. Two brothers preceded her in death.
