Description	:	Helen Wills Thompson of Southampton died Monday May 31, 2010, at her residence. She was 84. Mrs. Thompson was born in Chatsworth, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Morrison Wills. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a 1944 graduate of Pemberton High School, and for many years was the secretary to the Commanding General at Fort Dix. She was very active in Southampton Township community affairs, serving as a trustee for the Harry Irick Nurses, and was on the Board of Trustees of the Sally Stretch Keen Library in Vincentown since 1959, and was vice... Read More	Helen Wills Thompson of Southampton died Monday May 31, 2010, at her residence. She was 84. Mrs. Thompson was born in Chatsworth, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Morrison Wills. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a 1944 graduate of Pemberton High School, and for many years was the secretary to the Commanding General at Fort Dix. She was very active in Southampton Township community affairs, serving as a trustee for the Harry Irick Nurses, and was on the Board of Trustees of the Sally Stretch Keen Library in Vincentown since 1959, and was vice president of the Library for many years. Mrs. Thompson loved sports, she was a member of the Pine Belt Sportsmen's Club, the Medford Lakes Country Club. With her late husband, she was a blueberry grower. She was a member of the Chatsworth and Vincentown Methodist Churches. For many years, she was Vincentown's First Lady. Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, R. Lee Thompson and his wife, Caroline of Southampton; four grandchildren: Melissa Thompson, Jonathan Richberg, Robert Lee Thompson III, and Jessica Thompson; a sister, Betty Dunfee Carter of Chatsworth; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Wills Palmer and Blanche Thompson, and a brother-in-law, Harvey Thompson. She was the sister of the late George Wills and sister-in-law of the late Elton Thompson and John Wesley Thompson. She is also survived by nieces: Cathy Pepper, Carol Warren, Bobbi Lynn Graham, Cheryl Wescott and Lorraine Thompson, and nephews: John Wesley Thompson, Brad Wescott Thompson and Wayne, Thomas, Richard, Mark and Jay Thompson. Funeral Services will be held Friday at the Vincentown First Methodist Church, Main Street, Vincentown. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton.
