Description	:	Helena Iversdatter Evensen was born 7 Sep 1838, in Nes, Hedmark, Norway, the daughter of Iver & Clare Olsendatter Hansen. On 14 Dec 1866, in Nes, Hedmark, Norway she was married to Christian Evensen. Shortly after they came to America and settled in Bangor, Wisconsin, and later moved to Soldier. On 14 Dec 1866, in Nes, Hedmark, Norway she was married to Christian Evensen. Shortly after they came to America and settled in Bangor, Wisconsin, and later moved to Soldier. She raised five daughters; Ida Gibson, Mary, Jennie (Gunda), Adeline Eleanor Swenson, and Caroline Longlee. ___________________________________________ OBITUARY Died: Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, Mrs. Helena Evenson, aged 79 years; at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. W. Swenson. "Grandma Swenson" as the deceased was familiarly called by her firends and neighbors, was born in Hedmark, Norway, and came to this country in 1886. Two daughters, Mrs. A. W. Swenson and Mrs. Gibson and a number of grandchildren survive her demise. During the past few years deceased was in very poor health, being partly paralyzed and nearly helpless. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Swenson and for several months past Mrs. Gibson has been here to assist in the care of the loving, though helpless mother. Before being confined to her room "Grandma" was always cheerful and friendly to both young and old and especially popular with the children who missed her greatly when fate chained her to her room. The funeral takes place today at 5 o'clock Reverend Helseth to officiate. --TAKEN FROM THE BISBEE, TOWNER, NORTH DAKOTA GAZETTE, SEPTEMBER 4, 1919.
