Description	:	Helene Anna Ida was born on a farm in Bloomfield, Nebraska. At the age of 9 the State of Nebraska took the children away from Anna Auguste Von Poellot Brash who had asked the state of Nebraska for help on occasion in raising her children. All the children were taken to an orphanage. Helene was adopted by Wilson and Elfa Parks in about 1925, and lived in Western Nebraska for several years. She met and married Wilson's brother, Melvin Parks. They had 4 children. Helen (Parks) Hamilton, 93, of Rapid City passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Golden Living Meadowbrook. Helena Anna Ida was born February 19, 1915 in Bloomfield, NE to Edward and Augusta (Polloet) Brasch. She was raised and educated in Eastern Nebraska. Helen received her teaching degree from Chadron State College and taught for 28 years, her final years in Hot Springs. She moved to Rapid City in 1998 to spend her retirement years close to family. Helen’s faith was an important part of her life especially playing the piano at church. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. (Living people portion omitted) She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Parks, daughter Lula Mae Hill, granddaughter Jaqueline Hill, grandson, Lloyd Hubbard, two brothers and three sisters. A visitation will be from noon to 2pm on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City. A celebration on Helen’s life will be at 2pm on Sunday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Woodard officiating. Inurnment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs at a later date.
