Helene was born on Jan. 26, 1928, at Lone Wolf, OK, to Herbert C. and Amelia (Borth) Felter. She grew up in the Lone Wolf area and graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1946. She attended beauty school in Weatherford, OK. She learned how to send telegrams at Springfield, MO, and then began working for Western Union in Enid, OK. She married Claire E. Helene was born on Jan. 26, 1928, at Lone Wolf, OK, to Herbert C. and Amelia (Borth) Felter. She grew up in the Lone Wolf area and graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1946. She attended beauty school in Weatherford, OK. She learned how to send telegrams at Springfield, MO, and then began working for Western Union in Enid, OK. She married Claire E. Hansen on Nov. 6, 1955, in Lone Wolf. They farmed east of Coleridge, NE until they moved to their present farm south of Coleridge in 1960. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hansen Implement for about 10 years. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Laurel and loved to sew, garden and square dance. She also did volunteer work for the American Red Cross and had Bible study with the residents of Park View Haven Nursing Home for 14 years. She was a former Cub Scout leader. Helene is survived by her husband, Claire of Coleridge; a son, Byron (Sheryl) Hansen of Kearney; three grandsons, Steven, Matthew and Daniel Hansen; a brother, Leonard (Lenice) Felter of Lone Wolf, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Denice Hansen; a son, Gary Hansen on April 28, 2006; a sister-in-law, Lenice Felter; and three brothers-in-law, Clayton, Dallas and Francis Hansen.
