Description	:	Funeral services for Helen E. Schroeder of Wall Lake were held Saturday morning July 13, 1991, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Pastor Roger Carlisle officiated. Mrs. Schroeder passed away at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, following a prolonged illness. Music was by soloist Leland Weitzel and organist Roland Erickson. Mrs. Marvin Rohde, Mrs. D.V. Lawler and Mrs. Dennis Paysen were in charge of the floral arrangements. Pallbearers were Kent Schroeder, Darrel Schroeder, Thomas Younger, Mark Schroeder, Paul Schroeder and Carl Breckenfelder. Schroeder was born August 27, 1893, in Sac County, Ia., the daughter of William and Helena Garnatz Hensel. She married Edward J. Schroeder on May 3, 1917. They resided on a farm south of Lake View for 71 years. She had spent the past three years at Twilight Acres. Mrs. Schroeder was a rural school teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the Lutheran church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid, and had taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a former member of the Women's Club. She loved flowers, gardening, music and her family. Survivors include three sons: Edward of Wichita, Kan., Eugene of Lake View, and Lorne of Parker, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Davis of Modesto, Calif.; and a brother, Oscar Hensel of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; a son, David; and a daughter, Shirley; a granddaughter, Becky; two brothers, William and John; and seven sisters: Ida Mohr, Linda Herrig, Hilda Breckenfelder, Hattie Hardyk and Lucy Hardyk.
